Savate

Savate or French boxing is a fist-and-foot combat sport of French origin, in which the 2 opponents wear gloves, appropriate footwear (booties) and a special outfit called an "intégrale".

Male and female combatants are called shooters. Its origins date back to the 19th century, with its roots in the tradition of French fencing, from which it borrows its vocabulary and spirit.

Competitions, with age and weight categories, can be of 2 types.

In the assault category, fighters are judged on their technical and tactical qualities and their style.

In the combat category, power is not limited and one of the 2 fighters may be knocked out of the match.
